Hello,
My name is Gage Smith (he/him) — I'm an artist, storyteller, role-playing game designer, and full-time technical writer living in Central New York.
Personally, I study storytelling and media analysis to tell my own stories, and design games that help other people create stories collaboratively. I love film, video essays, and the works of Mary Oliver. I play ukulele, travel, and meditate when I can remember.

Professionally, I have a BFA in New Media Design and years of visual art and design experience as an illustrator, graphic designer, and technical writer. My design work has been used in international events, global manufacturing companies, community art fairs and city governments. Here are some examples of things I've made:

I've taken part in a couple round-table discussions about metamodernism[^Metamodernism: A term used to describe the observed movement in the arts towards post-post-modernism, an artistic sensibility that "oscillates between a modern enthusiasm and a postmodern irony, between hope and melancholy, between naiveté and knowingness, empathy and apathy, unity and plurality, totality and fragmentation, purity and ambiguity." (Notes on Metamodernism by Timotheus Vermeulen & Robin van den Akker)] in media, hosted by scholar Linda Ceriello and writer Greg Dember, and uploaded to their YouTube channel:
